EZ-DO Pint
Polyurethane Gel
Keep your Happy Valley Ranch cider press looking beautiful and performing like new with EZ-DO Polyurethane Gel. All wooden cider presses require a protective seal before use, and EZ-DO is the best choice for food safety, durability, and ease of application. Unlike lacquer or varnish—which must be reapplied every few years—EZ-DO forms a lasting barrier that seals and protects your press from moisture, stains, and wear.
Features
- Safe for Food Contact: Non-toxic, lead-free, and FDA-approved for use on surfaces that touch food and beverages.
- Durable Finish: Resists water, alcohol, and general wear, ensuring your press stays in top condition.
- Easy Application: No runs, no lap marks—just a smooth, professional finish.
- Fast Drying: Dries in about six hours, so you can finish sealing your press in a single day.
- Coverage: One pint is enough for the Pioneer or Homesteader Press; two pints are recommended for the American Harvester.
With EZ-DO, you only need to apply once, and your cider press will be protected for years to come. This polyurethane gel penetrates deep into the wood, giving it a smooth, rich finish that’s safe, strong, and simple.
How to Apply EZ-DO Polyurethane Gel
- Prepare Your Press
- Make sure the wood is clean and dry.
- Lightly sand any rough spots for the smoothest finish.
- Stir the Gel
- Open your pint of EZ-DO and stir gently to blend (do not shake).
- Apply Evenly
- Using the included brush, cloth, or sponge, apply a thin, even coat to all wooden surfaces.
- Work the gel into the grain for maximum penetration.
- Wipe Excess
- After a few minutes, lightly wipe away any extra gel to prevent buildup.
- Allow to Dry
- Let the finish dry for about 6 hours.
- For best results, keep the press in a dust-free area while drying.
- Repeat if needed
- Apply a second coat for added durability, especially on high-contact areas.
- Ready to use
- Once fully dry, your cider press is sealed, protected, and safe for use.
